Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Program Rule 9K-9, Florida Administrative Code
On February 3 and 4, 2010, a hearing at the Division of Administrative Hearing was held to consider the rule challenge filed on the Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Program Rule 9K-9, Florida Administrative Code. We await a ruling on this matter by the Administrative Law Judge before the Department of Community Affairs can move forward with adopting the changes to Rule 9K-9. The ruling could come anytime within the next 8-10 weeks. Please continue to check this web page for further updates.
Parks and Open Space Florida Forever Grant Program
The Florida Legislature did not include funding for Florida Forever in its budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. In light of this development, Florida Communities Trust cannot fund applications in 2009 for the Parks and Open Space Florida Forever Program or the Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Florida Forever Program. Florida Communities Trust plans to start afresh in 2010 in anticipation of funding being available for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year. For more information, please contact us at 850-922-2207.
The 2010 Legislative Session is scheduled to begin on March 1 and end on April 30. Florida Communities Trust does intend to open a 2010 grant application cycle for the Parks and Open Space Program anticipating a Florida Forever appropriation for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. However, due to uncertainty about the availability of Florida Forever funding, Florida Communities Trust is considering the option of slightly altering the dates of the 2010 grant application cycle by opening the grant application window in March with a deadline in late May. We hope that this change will provide our applicants with more flexibility to account for any changes to Florida Forever's status that might arise during the Legislative Session. We welcome any comments or suggestions regarding this change.
Rule 9K-7 became effective on February 8, 2010 and Rule 9K-8 became effective on February 9. We are still updating information on the Parks and Open Space portion of the web page, however, the FCT-5 grant application is now effective and available online. Please continue to check the website for further updates as they become available.
